About the Presenter
Julene Paul

Julene Paul is a PhD student in Urban Planning and a Graduate Student Researcher at the Institute of Transportation Studies. Her current research explores connections between transportation access, job locations, and economic outcomes. She has also studied the relationship between transit ridership and demographic change in California, the role of emerging mobility options on regional access, and the influence of cohort effects on patterns of vehicle ownership. Prior to joining the UCLA doctoral program, she was a Program Manager with the Federal Transit Administration. She also has a master’s degree in planning from Rutgers and an AB from Harvard College.
Brian Taylor
Brian Taylor is Professor of Urban Planning and Public Policy and Director of the Institute of Transportation Studies at UCLA. Professor Taylor explores how society pays for transportation systems and how these systems in turn serve the needs of people who – because of low income, disability, location, or age – have lower levels of mobility. Topically, his research examines travel behavior, transportation economics & finance, and politics & planning.
