About the Presenter

Amy Hofstra

Amy Hofstra is a PhD student at the University of Illinois-Chicago. She has a BA and MS in Chemistry, as well as an MCCP in Community Planning. Amy worked as a Community Planner for the historic City of Greenbelt, Maryland, before entering the graduate program in the Department of Urban Planning and Public Affairs. She is the recipient of the Krambles Scholarship, the Provost's Graduate Internship Award, and the 2021 APTA Scholarship.
Amy's areas of interest in research includes emerging mobility, equity, transportation modeling, and suburban communities. Her projects include development of equity metrics for on-demand transit; and mobility for people with disability. She will be completing her PhD research proposal in 2021.
Amy is an inadvertent and exclusive suburban and rural dweller, and member of a transportation disadvantaged household. In her free time, she strives to get ahead of her queue of interesting podcasts and enjoys walks in nature.
